From the class '52-'59,I loved Mundella and am so grateful for the launch it gave a poor working class Wollaton Park council estate boy into university, research (biochem)in the States and a career lecturing at King's College London. So when I retired and began writing and publishing novels, Mundella had to be there. My heroine, Rosemary Whyte, and her best friend, School Hockey Captain Kathie, start at Mundella in 'Rosie, Kathie and the Pot of Gold' (ISBN 1905996001) and their adventures continue in 'Rosie, Kathie and the Disappearing Body' (ISBN 9781905996063) both by CJ Chesterton. Anyone interested can goto Amazon or eBAY to have a look-see. You guys might remember me as the Chess Club Organiser ('58-'59) or the idiot who went up onto the platform at the '59 prize-giving as the announcement that Welbeck House had won the Girl's Hockey Shield was being made! (I was waiting in the wings to collect the Chess Cup when Mrs Houseman beckoned me to come over to help our star Hockey Captain with all Welbeck's other trophies. . .)
Cheers everyone! Jim
