From Richard Brown:
I just found this on The magpies website.
Haydn Green was in my class. He was a great friend and we never lost touch over the last 40 odd years. Our friendship grew out of our common love of cricket and football. We both had season's tickets at NCCC and spent many lunches and evenings Trent Bridge when we were at Mundella. In the winter we would meet up at Meadow Lane to watch the Maggies and after we left school made many away trips to cup ties and big games. Haydn always loved Notts County and did his best to support the club in any way he could. A great guy with a great sense of humour.

Notts County Football Club was shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely death of Haydn Green.

We wish to express the deepest regret of everyone at the Club upon hearing this sad news.

Mr Green was a most generous benefactor and without his enthusiasm and financial support it is doubtful that the Club would have been saved in 2003.

At that time he was key in putting together a plan and committing finance in order to rescue the Club from Administration.

Haydn attended the majority of home games and was an ardent fan.

He will forever be remembered by Notts County and we extend our sincere condolences to his family.
