Victoria Swimming Leisure Centre is likely to close around Easter. Once closed unlikely to ever reopen. There is nothing accessible to City workers (lunch time) or the people who live in Carlton, St. Anns, Sneinton and indeed Mansfield Road and Sherwood without complicated bus journeys and the time element. This would affect schools taking up swimming

People who swim there appreciate that it is a large pool, 37 and 1/3 yards long and wide. You get a decent swim.
The smaller pool is not a infant pool. It was known as the "Ladies" Pool years ago, used extensively for schools and and lessons and swimming clubs
Turkish baths and great sports facilities. Portland Leisure Centre in the Meadows nice but still only one pool
The people who use the centre ar happy with the way it is and are not asking for it to be modernising
Elliott Durham has closed
Noel Street Pool will close

Even if you don't use the facilty perhaps you would consider signing this online petition for the sake of the community who use the pool now and may do in the future
