The "Yesterday" channel is repeating the "Harvey Moon" series.
I have just seen a jumble sale held in the Upper Hall - complete with War Memorial behind its railings.
Also location shots in the Meadows (junction of Beauvale Road and Holgate Road)

I saw them filming outdoors near the main gate and the side gate, they also filmed indoors, in the lower hall.
A person grabbed hold of yound Lee Whitlock {played Stanley} and pulled a lock of his hair out, and screamed 'I've got his hair!'

The actors refused to give autographs.

Elaine
Great to read your message. I remember you very well and had forgotten you went to Mundella - though a long time after me !!
Thank your Dad for confirming the Harvey Moon filming at Mundella. Way back in the early to mid 60's when I was in the group "Lost" your dad, Keith, often asked me to come and play my guitar round at your house. I never did get round to doing that, but remember me to him - hope he is ok he was a great bloke.
Stephanie and the "children" are fine. Have sent you an e-mail with more stuff in it plus Mick's address.
Bye for now
Malc

Malcolm,
I believe you are right. I remember a note in the old guest book several months ago by an ex-student who was an eye witness to the filming. It will take ages to find, but I know it's in there somewhere. Good hunting!

Richard...

Merry Christmas Everyone
Can anyone confirm the following – I’m sure I haven’t dreamt this.
Hallmark, a new satellite channel, is showing repeats of the 80’s TV series “Shine on Harvey Moon”. When it was first shown I am sure I remember correctly that they had used Mundella for the external school shots involving Harvey’s son Stan.
I was living away from Nottingham at this time and thought I was going barmy until someone told me that, despite its London setting, Central TV (now Carlton TV) had made the series from their Lenton Lane, Nottingham studios and had obviously used the then deserted Mundella for the playground shots.
I have resolved to watch the repeats to try and spot Monkeydella
