Like Steve I was part of the football crowd, but I do vaguely remember the bus stop prop. There was a scene where Zigger and his girl friends get on a bus, I think there were a couple of bus seats as props as well. Can't but believe that Pete's story is a myth, but the props were probably real and borrowed from the depot in Turney Street.

What I remember was on the Saturday night of the show, someone I think it was Ian Maclauglin spelling uncertain now) who as a doctor took Zigger behind a screen, and ad libbed "Have you got a licence for that thing?". Just the sort of thing to upset Mr Hoard. A few years later in "The Real Inspector Hound", the word bugger got progressively shortened to "bugg", "Bu" and "b".

Hope these might spark some more memories of old school plays.

Just to set the record staight, Zigger Zagger was staged in early 1971, under the direction of John Garofall. I've still got the programme. I played an important part in the football crowd! I don't remember a bus stop tho'.

She was Anne Gerber - long hair, contemporary, etc.
I remember going to see Zigger Zagger. Don't know anything about the bus stop, Spike, but it sounds a great story.

With reference to Zigger Zagger and Miss Gerber, does anyone remember the film shot around the railway bridge and the memorial gardens? does anyone have a copy? The cast were members of 4s1 or 5s1 I think in 1971 or 1972

I saw Dave Shepherd last weekend for the
first time since 1975. 1967-74 crowd,
sign up for that re-union.

While chatting one Mundella story came back.
Is it true or is it myth.

There was a production of Zigger Zagger (Pat
Luker and ??? Gerber directing ) around 1973
One of the props was a bus stop. The story
I remember is a bunch of idiots borrowed it
one lunchtime, went and stood by it on Arkwright
Street. After a few minutes when more people had
joined the queue and as the bus approached they
gathered up their bus stop and legged it back
to school leaving these people standing by
the kerb as the bus went by. Is it true, did
it really happen?
